Highest nuclear certification

Subcon exhibitor Bauer has achieved KTA 3204, the highest certification available for the German nuclear industry.

The production, technology, quality and personal qualification standards at Bauer are recognised in this certification. The KTA 3204 is a certificate given to companies that have been approved as nuclear industry suppliers. Bauer is one of the few companies to have achieved these standards and is probably the only disc spring manufacture to be certified.

This is a government based legal requirement for suppliers to the nuclear industry. It has been setup to make sure that companies wishing to supply to the nuclear industry have the technology not only to produce the parts to a level of quality and also that they have the capacity to check the quality of their products. Also the personnel within the company have the knowledge of the required process and quality requirement.

Bauer Gm has been approved under the German KTA 1401, AVS D 100/50 nuclear engineering codes.

To obtain KTA1401 a company has to have achieved the certificate KTA 3204. This safety standard applies to the quality assurance during planning and design, during procurement, fabrication and assembly of product forms, parts, components and systems and operation including the related tests and inspections, with special regard to the quality characteristics important to the precautionary measures against damage of the safety relevant parts in stationary power plants.
