Birmingham, UK – 5 June, 2025 – Subcon 2025 has officially drawn to a close, leaving behind two days of innovation, networking, and industry inspiration at the NEC Birmingham.

This year’s event exceeded all expectations, welcoming thousands of manufacturing professionals, subcontractors, and supply chain specialists from across the UK. With a packed programme of content and exhibitors, Subcon 2025 once again proved itself to be the UK’s premier subcontract manufacturing supply chain show for the aerospace, defence and security, automotive, and medical industries.

The standout highlight of the two-day event was the second year of the Manufacturing Solutions Awards. Recognising outstanding achievements in the manufacturing industry.

“This year’s Manufacturing Solutions Show Awards – the second year of the programme – saw numerous high-quality entries, covering everything from leading UK and international manufacturers to innovative products addressing key challenges in the manufacturing sector and individuals who have an illustrated an unwavering advocacy for UK manufacturing. The winners really do showcase the best-of-the-best in this cutting-edge industry,” said Ben Watkins, Sales Manager, Subcon – host of the Manufacturing Solutions Show Awards.

A panel of judges selected from across the industry reviewed the shortlist, agonised over the decision and now very pleased to announce the winners:

Start-Up of the Year was closely contested with only four points separating the top three companies

  • Buckingham Magnetics

Edging the competitors to the trophy this year, Buckingham Magnetics has achieved remarkable success since its inception in 2020. Harnessing the power of AI to revolutionise advanced power electronics, creating solutions that are efficient, reliable and sustainable.

UK Manufacturing Partner of the Year was a two-horse race with MTC getting an honourable mention as a standout entry.

  • Sertec

Sustainable engineering solutions provider Sertec’s investment in cutting-edge press technologies and automated assembly lines is transforming Body-in-White (BIW) performance and advancing EV battery manufacturing as well as their people first approach and community programs impressed all the judges this year, scoring highly and ultimately winning.

International Manufacturing Partner of the Year saw a standout winner this year, leaving little space for the other excellent nominees.

  • Sahasa Electronics

A successful expansion in their home country as well as entry into South Africa and diversification into EV charging alongside significant contract wins in multiple disciplines made Sahasa stand out in this year’s awards.

Product of the Year was an extremely close category this year, any one of the nominees could have walked away with the prize. A mere seven points separated all the entries.

  • xGenBi UXLI Limited

Developed by UXLI Limited, xGenBI was created to meet the unique challenges of data management in manufacturing. With an abundance of information from a myriad of sources, xGenBI brings this all together in an enablement platform that bring this data together into one system and harnesses AI to drive transformative results across manufacturing operations.

Outstanding Industry Contribution was inundated with quality entries from across the industry, Andrea quickly rose to the top of the pile to deservedly win the prize this year

  • Andrea Wilson – Director at Hone-All Precision Limited

Andrea Wilson’s leadership in precision engineering, her significant impact on the industry through Hone-All's success, and her dedicated campaign for a UK Minister of Manufacturing make her an exemplary candidate for a lifetime achievement award. Her work not only benefits her company but also contributes to the advancement and recognition of the entire UK manufacturing sector. Andrea's passion, persistence, and vision for a stronger, more supported manufacturing industry in the UK set her apart as a true leader deserving of this prestigious recognition.

“I’m truly honoured and humbled to be recognised by Subcon and my industry peers as everything I do is with one simple goal – to give UK manufacturing the profile, platform, and processes it needs to succeed. I am simply the Managing Director of an SME machining business in Leighton Buzzard - if my little personal crusade for UK manufacturing can have this much impact, and be recognised by so many, imagine what we could achieve if each of us did a little more to get the message across to those who need to listen," Andrea Wilson, Director at Hone-All Precision Limited.

The show also featured a fantastic line-up of speakers, who delivered insight-packed sessions covering everything from advanced manufacturing technologies and sustainable production methods to the future of automation and supply chain resilience.

Networking was elevated to new heights with the debut of the Pubcon networking area, a vibrant, relaxed hub where meaningful connections were forged over a game of pool. The informal setting allowed for conversations to flow and collaborations to spark in a way that’s uniquely Subcon.

As Subcon 2025 closes its doors, planning is already underway for an even bigger and better event in 2026. Please sign up on our website to be the first to hear about next year’s show.
